TARDIS in the haystack

  • Dec. 20th, 2009 at 9:21 AM
I hope this is okay to post...

I'm looking for an image, I remember coming across it sometime since June (I know, forever ago in the Net World).  Anyway, for whatever foolish reason I didn't snag it when I saw it and now I'm trying to find it.

It was a picture of 8 TARDISs and then Nine's TARDIS with him leaning against the side of it (on his shoulder) - I think that part was photo-shopped in.  I found an image that appears to be a cropped down version, but I'd really like to find the other one (if anyone has it or has seen it).

Anyway, if you know the photo I mean, I'd really appreciate finding it!

TIA!

An employee of the local bank here where I live asked me to do a translation for him from German into English. It's a summary (he told me that it didn't get graded) he needs to hand in with his diploma thesis, around 5 to 7 pages. The lovely topic: sustainable equity funds (i. e. specific vocabulary). How much should I charge him per line (in €)? I'm not officially a translator yet - happily working on it, though :D -, therefore I wouldn't know.

A certain sentence in Spanish

  • Dec. 19th, 2009 at 11:59 PM
I've already tried googling this stuff, but I'm not finding the answer I'm looking for. If I wanted to say something along the lines of "May you suffer forever" or "I hope you suffer forever" in Spanish, can it be said like "Que sufras para siempre"? Or can you not start it with "que"? Also, (and I hope I'm not breaking any rules by doing this) I've got a quick question for a sentence in English. Is a comma required after the word "least" in the sentence "At least that's what she'd let him believe"? Or if it was a sentence like "At least not to her knowledge." Yes, I am a bit nitpicky, but knowing for future reference can never hurt. Thanks. :)

Confidential Music

  • Dec. 20th, 2009 at 2:15 AM
I'm in need of some new tunes, and I've been watching a lot of Confidential lately.

I was wondering if anyone's ever made any sort of soundtrack based on the songs played in Confidential? (Specifically, I'm looking for Series 4.) Some sort of downloadable folder of mp3s would be ideal, but I'd settle for a list of songs. I found lists for Series 1, 2 and 3 on the BBC website, but they haven't seemed to have updated it for the last series.

Thanks!

What I'm working on now...
Christmas present for my Gena and Papa.

Acrylic on canvas, 28x24

No real name yet.
So what I thought would originally be a one-shot has now turned into a full fledged fanfiction. God help me.

This story (attempts to) focus on the Doctor's childhood, how he was enrolled in the academy, his relationship with The Master (Koschei) and his early beginnings in general.

Let me just say, it is so hard to write a young Doctor and keep him in character to William Hartnells Doctor. You have to look at the old man, and think to yourself, "what kind of childhood must he have had that made him who he is today" In this fic I try to build on that.

The Canon in the story actually blends several different theories on Gallifreyan Society. Wheather the Doctor is half human, pure timelord, and wheather timelords come out of LOOOOMS, I say all three. You'll just have to read and wait to figure out how. Though I will say do not expect anything smart. While I love science, I am absolutely positively weak in the area, and it will not be an easy task writing the Time Lord society as intelligent as it is supposed to be. Nevertheless I will try my best.

Onto the fic!

Now that we've been reminded that Phil knows as much about children as Elly does, it isn't much of a stretch to assume that Christmas week will be spent reminding him that there's a woman with a kid that needs a mayyyyuuunnn to complete her so he should listen to his older sister for once in his life and settle down.
